Well, bronzed goddess may be a bit of an exaggeration, *cough*alotofanexaggeration*cough*, ahem… anyway. As the summer come creeping towards us the idea of having to bare my legs is forever lurking in the back of my mind. Unleashing these pasty bad boys on to the unsuspecting population of London seems a little daunting for me and scary for the rest of the city!
There’s a whole deal of preparation that goes into making our bodies summer ready, right girls? It’s hard work but definitely makes me feel a little better about myself when showing some skin.
The first thing I reach for as the temperature increases and my jeans get a little too warm for my liking is the gradual tanner. Now, I can tell you I think I’ve tried them all at some point or another yet I always end up coming back to the same one.
Yes, this is it. Number one in my arsenal to get my body summer ready. I love a gradual tanner, this may be because I’ve had some scarily orange false tans in the past and I want to step away from them. Plus, with a gradual tanning moisturiser as it builds up it looks a little more natural rather than being a pasty, blonde chick one day and looking like an Oompa Loompa the next. It’s easier to avoid streaks and missed bits with a gradual tanner too. I’ve never been very patient so the Fake Bakes and St Tropezs I’ve given myself have never been particularly good-looking.
But yes, back to Garnier Summer Body. Like I said I’ve lost count of the amount of brands I’ve tried and I always return to Garnier. I love how soft it leaves my skin feeling, how evenly it tans (no patchy bits on my elbows or ankles here) and the best bit is that it smells quite nice. I know! Shocking isn’t it? A fake tan that doesn’t stink to high heaven. No matter how some brands try to mask the tanning smell it always smells really artificial and hangs round like a literal bad smell but Summer Body smells good. I find it a bit odd that I can’t quite put my finger on the smell or describe what it is but Tom tells me I smell of biscuits and I can guarantee it’s a nice one.
Go girls, do you have a favourite tanning product? and what’s the first thing you reach for when the sun starts shining?
Kisses

I´ve tried all sorts of self-tanning products. From Dove, Lauren´s Way to St. Tropez. I have just found a product I am satisfied with from SunSpa, a Scandinavian company.
Lauren´s Way is the worst self-tanning product I´ve come across. Got patches on all the wrong places.

I’ve not actually tried Lauren’s Way but I’ll definitely steer clear in future. x

The only self tanner I’ve tried is Model Co. everyday building lotion. You put it on everyday and it builds – I’m scared of getting orange hands.

I’ve got one of those spongey mitt things to put mine on because I’m afraid of orange hands too. I used to use rubber gloves but ended up with the occasional odd streak. x

Hi Lojo,
I too have tried many different brands of self tanning products over the years, but my favourite is Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel.
I’m obviously more impatient than you, as the gradual tan is just too slow, I like to see more instant results.
Happy tanning!
