To get around last week I decided to hire a car rather than get around by public transport. I really miss having a car sometimes and having the ability to come and go as I please rather than having to stick to a rigid timetable makes life a whole lot easier.
I always hire cars from Budget. They have a little office at London City Airport and give quite good discounts for booking in advance. Also, I’ve had a bit of a dodgy experience of having to meet a guy under a bridge to get a hire car the one time I strayed from Budget to save myself a few pennies. I’m telling you it was worth the extra couple of quid not to feel so bloody scared!
I always go with the smallest size car they have to offer and luckily they’ve had Fiat 500s the last three or four times I’ve used them. I love these little cars. They’re so easy to drive and manoeuvre, it’s like being in a roller skate.
Anyway, despite the fact that I actually moved out of my parents’ house about two and a half years ago I somehow still have ridiculous amounts of stuff there. That’s the second reason I prefer to hire a car when I go up there, it means I can shift some more stuff back down here. So, that’s what we did on Monday. Packed up the little car, stuffed it to the brim and hit the motorway.
This picture is outside our flat when we finally got home and emptied everything from the car. I thought it was hilarious having everything stacked on the side of the road. Tom thought it less so when he started trekking up to our second floor flat with it all once we realised the lift was broken again.
Ah well!
Are you taking part in The 30 Day Snap? Let me know so I can see your photos!

And I could still see out the back window! I going to have to spend an entire weekend in the loft next time I’m home. xxx
