Friday was a really weird day in work. It was finally the end of what felt like the longest week of my life and I was going around in a bit of a fog.
Everything in work was breaking and all I wanted to do was eat.
In the afternoon, that’s exactly what I did! Ahron wanted to visit a shop called The Savannah in Victoria Station. It’s a really small shop but it stocks all sorts of South African food. Ahron has been talking about things he missed from home and how different the UK versions of things are for a while so Friday afternoon was filled with the goodies from this shop.
On the way back I had a strawberry Fizzer which is a small stick of chewy sweets with sherbet in. It was good. This was followed up by a couple of the biscuits in the picture above which are ridiculously sweet but really tasty. All washed down with a can of grape Fanta.
Sugar rush doesn’t even begin to cover how I was feeling. I was skipping round the office because I didn’t know how to get rid of all the pent-up energy it had caused and I started having palpitations! I crashed pretty dramatically as I’m sure you can imagine. It was bizarre. I’ve never had a sugar high like it. Especially not off three biscuits!
I can safely say South African sweets are insanely sweet and full of so many E numbers it’s like reading the telephone book looking at the ingredients list!
