It’s no secret that I love cake. I mean I really enjoy baking cakes but even more than that, I love eating cake. So, when I heard that the Cake and Bake Show was coming back to London to say I was a bit excited is more than an understatement. Maybe this is going to be my key to improving my own baking. I’m going to try to pick up some hints and tips from the professionals.
With plenty of live demos and expert classes I’m hoping to have cracked the secret to winning The Great British Bake Off by the time I get home (both Edd Kimber and John Whaite are going to be there, they must have some tips and tricks for me surely.) Although, I may have to stay away from the marketplace if I know what’s good for my bank balance and my dress size! However, if they’re just tasters then they’ve had the calories taken out right?
Let me hand you over the professionals to tell you a little more about this brilliant exhibition at Earl’s Court.
Following two sell-out shows in London and Manchester and two major industry awards, the Cake & Bake Show has established itself as the UK’s favourite baking exhibition and is set to return to London this September for another exciting weekend dedicated to the world of cakes, breads and the art of baking! Britain’s love of baking continues to rise, with the home baking market increasing by 20% last year.
Taking place over three days, 13-15 September at Earls Court, the Cake & Bake Show London will feature the nation’s favourite baking stars including The Fabulous Baker Brothers – Tom and Henry Herbert, Great British Bake Off champion John Whaite, patissier to the stars Eric Lanlard, TV chef Rosemary Shrager, world-renowned baker Richard Bertinet, chef and TV presenter Simon Rimmer, chocolatier Paul a Young and Britain’s Best Bakery judges Peter Sidwell and Mich Turner plus many more.
New features that proved immensely popular with Manchester’s 27,000 visitors will return to the show in September, including the Lakeland Interview Stage where visitors can put their questions to the stars and the Sainsbury’s Competition Theatre where members of the public compete alongside their favourite baking celebrities.
The Cake Catwalk – our high fashion-themed cake decorating competition for amateurs and professionals alike – will also be coming to London just in time for Fashion Week and is guaranteed to wow with intricate sugar work and inspiring couture creations, plus live catwalk shows with an edible twist!
Other features at the show include two celebrity demo stages, hands-on experiential stands hosted by Billington’s, Neff, Dr Oetker and Squire’s Kitchen, the Renshaw Sugarcraft Academy and live cake decorating in action. Those looking to kit out their kitchen will find hundreds of stands stocked with the latest sugarcraft and baking equipment as well as delicious cakes, breads and pies.
Whether you’re an amateur enthusiast looking for a fun family activity, a bride looking for the perfect wedding cake idea, a home baker looking for some helpful tips or a sugarcrafter on the hunt for the latest equipment, the Cake & Bake Show London offers everything baking fans could want and need.
I think I’m going to need to go on all three days just to soak everything up, see all the demos and speakers I want to hear and learn everything there is on offer. I will be a cake queen if it kills me!
So, will I see you there? Are you nearly as excited as me? Do you think Tom will get upset if I try to run away with James Morton or Henry Herbert? Will Stacie Stewart be my new best mate?
Kisses,
