I am pretty sure I’m an old lady trapped in a younger person’s body. It’s like I need to skip al this middle bit and get straight down to being a grandma. I love cardigans, tea, gin, baking and knitting. Lately I’ve added to my love of all things old lady by becoming 100% obsessed with cross stitch.
She’s ace, isn’t she? Anyway yeah. Cross stitch is something I’d been thinking about trying for a little while but it all looked a little bit too complicated and scary to me. Also, I throw a fit when I’m not good at things first time (yes, I know, it’s embarrassing) but I still decided to try it.
In fact I saw these awesome little coasters from The Bellwether and thought I’d give it a go. I mean, I needed some coasters for the coffee table in my living room and I do really love both gin and tea so they suited me down to the ground.
The kit contains absolutely everything you need to make two coasters and comes with the worlds easiest to understand instruction booklet. It’s brilliant. It’s everything the novice cross stitcher and results seeker could possibly need.
I think I did a pretty good job personally. Please excuse my old jogging bottoms on this picture, it was a lazy Sunday afternoon!
I also got a brilliant sampler kit that I can’t show you just yet as I’m giving it to one of my friends as a present. It’s all stitched up and I’m pleased with it. I just need to give it a little iron and find a frame to pop it in before I post it over. I really hope she likes it, even though it is quite belated as a moving in gift.
I’m now dying to get started on a new one and I have a couple of patterns waiting to go but I need to wait for the thread and fabric to arrive. But my word, I’m impatient!
Do you have any old lady interests too? Have you tried cross stitch? What are your thoughts on it?
Kisses,
