I’ve been moping around at home recently, an unhappy little bunny. I’m fed up with our flat. Ideally, I want to move but we can’t really afford that at the moment, especially as we’re trying to save for the wedding. So instead, I want to redecorate, but should I bother when I want to move as soon as we can after the wedding? I feel like I’m a bit stuck in the middle and I don’t know what to do. So, to try to quell the need to start flinging some paint around immediately I’ve been spending hours with my head stuck in interior design blogs and building and decorating my dream home in my head. Well, not only in my head also on Pinterest. I have a whole interior design obsessed Dream House board on there.
Anyway, I thought I’d share a few of the my favourite images from my favourite interior design blogs.
Living room inspiration
I love this minimalist living room. It belongs to Alice Gao of Lingered Upon and I saw it on Daily Dream Decor. I just love how incredibly stylish yet understated it is.
Just look at those library shelves! I want to curl up in the corner of that really comfy looking couch with a book. May I also draw your attention to those chairs please? I love them. This gorgeous living room came from My Ideal Home.
These lovely shelves, stuffed full of vinyl are also from My Ideal Home. I really love that vase too. My Ideal Home is quite a nice interior design blog as it gathers images from all over the place but it doesn’t give you any more detail about them which is a bit sad.
Bathroom inspiration
I spend a lot of time in the bathroom. I love lounging and luxuriating in a bubble bath and just listening to music or reading my book. I long for a gorgeous bathroom like these.
Speaking of luxurious how magnificent is this bathroom. A little slice of interior design perfection on the grandest scale! I found this beauty on Vintage and Chic. I don’t even know what to say about it. That bathtub is dreamy on its own never mind anything else.
As beautiful as the other bathroom is though, this is my idea of a gorgeous bathroom. Mina from Bohemian Vintage agrees and feathered this in her dream bathroom round up.
Ashlina a.k.a The Decorista featured this dreamy bathroom in her light vs dark post. I’m definitely all for a light bathroom and this one is beautiful. Look at the huge shower head and I’d never think of making all the plumb-work gold.
Bedroom inspiration
Our bedroom is possibly the most neglected room in the whole flat. It’s a mish mash of things and I just don’t know what I want to do with it.
With my Ikea obsession raging strong it had to feature somewhere and here it is in this gorgeous bedroom from From Scandinavia With Love. Loads of shelves again, I love shelves. Did you guess that already based on my living room choices?
Swoon Worthy is one of my favourite blogs in the world. I totally just want to move in with Kimberley. Then when I saw her beautiful bedroom I knew I couldn’t go back and I needed her house! I would never think of painting any room in my house black, never mind the bedroom but look at just how amazing it is. Want.
Other rooms
I’d love a huge kitchen. It fits in with my dream of being a 1950s housewife and domestic goddess. Yes yes, I know that’s a silly dream but this is my dream house we’re taking about. The best part of this kitchen (that was featured on Heart Handmade UK) is that island. I love it.
This amazing hallway is from Belle Maison. I wish I had a huge hallway like this or anywhere I could put that striking wallpaper. I adore it! I love the stairs too.
This colourful corner is also from Heart Handmade UK. I think it’s actually a child’s bedroom but I want it as my home office. I love how bright it is. I don’t actually have anywhere in the flat for a home office to fit so I usually work from the sofa or the dining table in the corner of the living room. I’d love my own little office area and what a brilliant excuse to buy loads of new stationery.
Well, looking at this I think I’ve made up my mind. We have to move. I need a black and white hallway and a bright home office as soon as is humanly possible. Right? Right!
Where do you find interior design inspiration? What do you think of my choices?
