This week is National Stationery Week in the UK. I know! How bloody exciting is that? Maybe not as exciting as I think it is if you’re not as big of a stationery fiend as me I guess.
It’s no secret that I’m a stationery fan, I can spend an awful long time, much to the annoyance of Tom, looking at everything in Paperchase when we hit Westfield. I don’t think he quite “gets” the stationery thing. As long as there’s a pen and a bit of paper, or his hand to scribble notes on he’s happy.
I realised on Saturday afternoon that I might have a bit of a problem. My friend, Kat, asked if I had a pen in my bag and I brought out about ten different pens of varying colour and ink type for her to choose from. (For those that are interested, she chose a pink biro.)
Anyway, I thought I’d share some of my favourite stationery finds with you, you know, just in case anyone wants to buy me a National Stationery Week present.
1. Sense of Wonder Notebook – £4 – Urban Outfitters
I really love this notebook. The colours and the statement to never lose your sense of wonder are just lovely. It would be the perfect book to scribble down any ideas for projects you have in.
2. Make a Decision Pad – £5.95 – Urban Outfitters
I’m rubbish at decision-making. I’m pretty sure I’ve lamented this fact before. That’s why this pad is a God send! All you have to do is enter all the details of your dilemma into the page and the answer pretty much just jumps straight out at you. Marvellous!
3. Motex Embossing Label Maker – £12 – Urban Outfitters
I have one of these already and I blummin’ love it. I don’t have this one but I think I might get this one to replace mine. It looks a little sturdier than the one I have and when it makes labels look this ace why wouldn’t you want to label everything?
4. Geometric Colour Change Pens – £3.50 – Paperchase
I remember having these as a child. Colouring things in and then drawing patterns over the top in the magic pen that made it change colour. I just want to grab a colouring book and get started with these.
5. Classy and Fabulous Coco Chanel Pencils – £5.50 – Dottie Rocks on Etsy
I used to love getting those sets of pencils every Christmas when I was young with my name embossed on the end in gold. These are like the grown up version of that. Not only are they super cute they’re spreading the word of the rather fabulous Coco Chanel in the process. Fashionable and useful all at the same time.
6. Lower Case Alphabet Stamps – £18.50 – Papermash
I don’t think I have a genuine use for these at all. Doesn’t stop me lusting after them though. They’re so cute that if I had them I might just take up scrap-booking or card making or something like that just to play with them!
7. Patterned Clipboards – £28 – Papermash
I’m pretty obsessed with typography there are loads of loads of prints on Etsy that I desperately want and nowhere to display them. I’m currently eyeing up this set of four super pretty clipboards for that exact reason. The set in a square on my wall in the hall with pretty art on. Be still my beating heart!
8. Amazing Ideas I Had Whilst Drunk Notebook – £4.95 – Pretty Chic
What more is there to say about this notebook? Amazing ideas I had whilst drunk, everyone knows the best ideas appear after a drink or two. In fact all of my uni essays were written with two pints inside me. It was our rule. The words always come easier after two pints with friends.
So there you have it. My top picks for National Stationery Day. Are you a stationery lover or do you have one in your life that would appreciate these things?
Please remember though stationery is for life not just national stationery week and the start of the school term!
Kisses,
