Happy self care Sunday everyone! I am loving the name of this and think I might take it on as a weekly mission from now on. There’s nothing better than a little bit of pampering on a Sunday to set you up for the week ahead. Today is a better Sunday than usual too because of tomorrow’s Bank Holiday. Brilliant!
There are a handful of things I pretty much always do when I’m feeling restless and in need of some self care.
First things first, I usually need to get my head in order. That is helped by a bit of a tidy or a declutter. I love digging through cupboards and getting rid of things that we don’t need, use or wear anymore. I love focusing on a project, even if it is just a small one like sorting out my sock drawer. I feel like I’ve achieved something and my mind feels a little bit clearer just because somewhere physical is too.
Then, it’s time to sort my body out.
Unsurprisingly, I always choose a bubble bath in this situation. I bloody love a Lush bath bomb, sex bomb is a firm favourite I always return to, but you know anything with sparkles and no twigs and I’m happy! Team this with a cup of tea, a magazine and some music and don’t disturb me for an hour.
While I’m having a soak I like to treat my hair too. I’m currently loving Schwarzkopf Bonacare Repair Rescue Treatment. It smells lovely, makes my hair feel super soft and the little pot is lasting some time (and it’s not like I’m stingy with my application either!)
The other thing I really like doing in the bath that makes me feel all refreshed and ready to face the world again is a good scrub of my face. I’ve finally found an exfoliator that gives me the feeling I was after but it does taste horrendous if you get it on your lips, Ocean Salt face and body scrub again from Lush really makes me feel fresh-faced and squeaky clean.
Recently I’ve been topping this all off with a layer of Garnier Summer Body so I don’t look quiet so deathly pale. Also, this tanning moisturiser smells a bit apricoty and a lot less like biscuits than some f the others I’ve tried. Just need to make sure I keep an eye on those tell-tale tan marks around my hands now!
Anyway, that’s my self care Sunday routine. Do you have one? Please do share it with me if you do or if you have any other good, less salty facial scrubs I should try!
Kisses,
