It’s been brought to my attention that my mug has been popping up on the odd occasion on BBC channels. You see, back in February I was a model on a programme called Hair and the trailer for it has now started hitting screens. The show starts next Monday on BBC Two. Just in case you haven’t yet seen the trailer, here it is – you can see me at about the 3 second mark I think it is.
Exciting right?
Anyway, in my usual way a trip back to Liverpool at the weekend meant new hair. Looking back at this video though makes me feel like the ginger ‘do was so long ago.
I’d allowed my roots to get so long that there was more of my natural hair colour on show than I’d actually seen in about 15 years! Yep, I’ve been dying my hair for a very long time! You’ll have to forgive me that this before photo is from a few weeks ago when I went on the Afternoon Tea Bus Tour because my photos since then are either a bit drowned rat looking from when we went to see Blur in Hyde Park or really unattractive “oh my god, look at my roots” shots I’ve What’s App’d to Hannah. I’d like to try to keep some sense of dignity on here and not share those super attractive looks with you.
That’s right I’m a blondie again! Yay. It’s been a while since I’ve had blonde hair and I didn’t realise how much I’d missed it until Katie was drying my hair on Saturday afternoon.
It takes a lot of time and effort to get from patchy pink/beigey peach to white blonde and pink. About three and a half hours in fact. Good job I like it in there.
I’ve been going to the same hairdresser for years now and that’s mostly down to the fact that I feel comfortable with her and she’s never made me cry. This might sound silly but I’ve had a few hairdressers make me cry in the past, one particularly bad one somehow managed to mess up a straight forward wash and blow dry before I was going to a wedding reception! That’s a special kind of mess up. All I wanted was for her to tame my teenage frizz into some semblance of smooth straightness. Was that too much to ask? Apparently!
Anyway, I’m definitely a much tougher cookie these days and at the end of the day it is only hair. If someone does it for you and you’re not happy – fix it. It’s that simple.
Although, when you are happy with it, it makes you feel a million dollars, right? It’s silly how much emphasise we place on these outside factors to make ourselves feel good.
I do feel that I must apologise for all the phone selfies in this post. I never took my camera with me back to Liverpool so had to use what tools were available to me.
Anyway, what do you think of the white and pink? It’s the most “normal” hair colour I’ve sported (is that a real word?) in a while and it feels nice to get back to blonde again.
Kisses,

I love your hair!!! I have never dyed my hair before (I’ve also had trust issues with hairdressers lol) but I think I’ve found the one now and might just bite the bullet and get my hair lightened a little… Would love to be brave enough to get some pink too

I am loving your hair! White blonde, or even blonde, is something I have never done because of the amount of work it would take to get my hair like that but it looks fabulous on you

Thank you. Luckily, I am naturally blonde so it doesn’t take too much to lift it. I’m surprised I have any hair left sometimes the way I batter it with bleach! x

Now I am loving your hair and am slightly jealous I can’t do things like that (work) because it is so fab x

Thank you. I am lucky at my job, they expect the most ridiculous colours from me now so I think hey were surprised that this is so subduded! x
