When I was at school I was a massive Usher fan, although back then who wasn’t really? He was the perfect combination of dreamy good looks, effortless cool and brilliantly catchy pop/r’n’b songs. I definitely had him on a bit of a pedestal. (Can you tell I still do? Probably even more so as I look back through those rose-tinted glasses we so often like to peer at our past with.)
When I heard that he was releasing new music I felt a bit nervous, I have to tell you. There are a number of blast from the past acts coming back with new music over recent times and a lot have fallen short. They just don’t live up to that bar that we set pretty high in our minds for them. It’s more than likely an impossible standard that they could never reach in a million years but yet we raise them up to these astronomical heights.
However, the first time I heard Usher’s new single, Crash, all my worries melted away. It’s pretty damn good. Have a watch of the video now and judge for yourself.

It’s pretty safe to say that I should change my opening statement of this post to say I am an Usher fan still.

It sounds cool! I haven’t really heard much of his music so I don’t have much to compare it to anyway!
