Goal number 2 in my 35 before 35 list was to shift some weight so when I was given the opportunity to give Nutribuddy Breakfast Shakes* a try, I jumped at the chance.
Breaking the fast
I’m pretty rubbish when it comes to breakfast. Especially on workdays. I leave the house too early to be able to stomach anything more than a cup of tea. Then when I get off the tube at Euston I normally pick up something. Not great for my bank account and not great for my waistline either. I’m often guided by the weather as to what I choose to eat. Recently in the dark, dreary mornings, I’d have been reaching for a sausage sandwich or something along those lines. No wonder I’m starting to struggle to fasten my jeans, right?!
Being able just the throw a few scoops of powder and some milk into the shaker means my breakfast is ready in no time at all and I can just throw it into my bag ready for when I need it.
Shake it off
Good news is the shaker doesn’t leak at all. I think that’s because the lid screws on rather than flips over. Another good thing about the shaker is that it is dishwasher safe. The only annoying point is that I’d like there to be a 300ml line on the shaker so I didn’t have to measure my milk separately but that’s me being lazy probably.
The good stuff
There are a few flavours of breakfast shake available and I went with chocolate brownie flavour. I was a bit concerned that it might be over sweet (I only thought about this after I’d ordered) but it’s not. I’m really enjoying it and I’m feeling good about myself because it’s not full of any nasties. It’s jam-packed with organic, genuinely healthy ingredients. Not only that but it’s vegan, allergen-free and comes in a recyclable glass jar! Making it good for the environment as well as you.
So far so good
I’ve only been having it for breakfast for a week or so but I’m definitely enjoying it. I’ve tried a few other shakes in my time and I’ve struggled with them tasting really synthetic. Nutribuddy Shakes don’t have that plasticky taste and too thick consistency and I like the fact it has desiccated coconut in it too.
I’m going to keep going with it as my breakfast option. Once I get a bit further along with it I’ll let you know.
