Dear Cecilia,
I can’t believe you turn two today. Where has the time gone? It seems like just two minutes ago that I was having a lovely time at Marc and Nicky’s wedding. Waddling about in my long swishy dress and trainers because I couldn’t fit my huge, overdue, pregnant lady feet into anything else. I partied as long as I could but the weight of that huge bump made me call an early night. When I joked with people that I probably wouldn’t see them at breakfast the next day because I’d be in labour I didn’t realise I was giving you exit strategy ideas!
Life hasn’t been the same since you came along and I wouldn’t change a single minute of it (even if I do now look old beyond my years due to lack of sleep!)
You’re a little whirlwind that loves to travel at 100 miles an hour. You never stop and you never shut up. You make me laugh all the time and I just love the crazy, little character you’re becoming. You definitely know your own mind and I hope that never changes. Please, don’t ever doubt yourself. You’re such a fierce, sassy, independent little girl and you’re already making me proud.
Your speech is coming on daily and you regularly amaze me by coming out with words and phrases I had no idea you knew. Although, no I know I have to start being a bit more careful about what I say in front of you!
You love Peppa Pig at the minute, much to my chagrin. But it’s not the only thing you watch. Hey Duggee, Sarah and Duck, Boj and Masha and the Bear are all high up on your must-watch list too. You don’t just watch tv though. Reading, puzzles and dancing are your favourite things to do. The smallest bit of music and your bum’s wiggling. Watching you dance is brilliant, it never fails to put a big smile on my face.
You think hiding is the best game ever and love “booing” people. Your hiding skills definitely need some work though. You also love to have running races. You have to be in charge of saying “ready, steady, go!” and you’re always at least three steps into the race when you shout “go!”.
You’re not always full on. You can be really shy and quiet too. I wish you weren’t but that’s only because I know how brilliant you are and I want other people to see that side of you too.
You’re incredibly loving and regularly dish out big cuddles and kisses. Snuggling up with you is one of my most favourite things to do. I hope you never stop wanting mummy cuddles, they give me life.
You’ve completely turned my world around since your arrival two years ago and I can’t even begin to put into words how incredibly happy you make me. You’re the craziest, shinest, most brilliant little diamond and I’m proud to be your mum. I only hope that I can make you as proud as you make me.
I love you so much. I never knew a love like this was possible until I met you and although I pretty much hated every second of being pregnant you were worth every minute.
Lots of love
Mummy
