I did it. I can’t believe I actually made it. If you don’t know, terribly unfit me completed 40 Days Of Fitness for MacMillan Cancer Support.
I walked for miles, often dragging the kids and Tom along with the promise of a playground or ice cream at the other end. I also tried a whole load of different online fitness classes.
It totally confirmed that when I’m having fun and dancing around I don’t feel like I’m doing exercise and I enjoy it a whole lot more. It also confirmed that I feel so much better when I have had a good stretching session.
Since I’ve finished I haven’t really done too much and already I’m feeling it. My back is getting achy and niggly again and my energy levels are dipping. I have had a rotten cold and a bit of a cough so I haven’t really felt up to getting extra sweaty or going to the gym now that it’s open again. But I definitely need and want to start moving again.
My gym has reopened with a handful of classes and I’m keen to give Zumba, Body Conditioning, Pilates and Yoga a try. I ticked them all off at least once during my forty days and enjoyed them all so, to get to a regular class would be really good.
I also want to walk more too. We’ve been trying to get out every weekend and have been walking places or going to places to walk which has been nice. The girls enjoy it and it gets us all out of the house for a couple of hours which is so so so important for the girls. A good stretch of the legs and a lungful of fresh air makes them sleep so much better!
Through my forty days of fitness, I raised £180 for MacMillan Cancer Support. Thank you so much to anyone and everyone that sponsored me. My Just Giving Page is still open if you’d like to donate.
