I had a really unexpected lovely day on Saturday. I went from having no plans all weekend to bagging some vintage bargains, spending the day sitting in the sun, catching up with a friend and meeting a new lovely couple, Katt and Alex, and their adorable bunny, Elvis. It really was mega.
Claire and I had been talking in work on Friday about a vintage shopping event that we’d seen on Facebook and decided to pop down and see what was going on. Paper Dress in Shoreditch was having a clearance sale before they move to Hackney later this year and it was an absolute bargainacious fill a bag for £15 on Saturday.
Now we all know an average canvas tote bag isn’t huge however I discovered that you can fit a whole lot of stuff into one of them when you put your mind to it. In fact I successfully managed to put these four gorgeous dresses and this huge cardigany coat into the one bag. That’s right, I got all of this vintage goodness for £15. Incredible, right?
From left to right I walked away with this gorgeous 70s black maxi dress. I can’t find maxi dresses long enough in the shops and this is an amazing length. I’m so happy. A blue short-sleeved sundress with ceramic buttons. The cardigany coat I mentioned that has suede shoulder patches. A really bright floral day dress that Claire convinced me to get because I wear so much black and this black and white pleated dress which has a really cute pussy neck.
In fact when I showed Tom all the spoils of my vintage shopping trip his exact words were “you got all of that, in the one little bag? But you can’t pack your handbag properly!” He’s right, I can never organise my handbag enough to be able to fit everything in and zip it up properly. Anyway, maybe I’ll show you all of the junk I feel the need to carry around in my bag on a daily basis one day soon so you can see what I’m talking about.
As well as bagging a load of new pretties and a present for Tom I had a really lovely day. I love it when you get a surprise mega day like that. Oh and the adorable girl behind the counter at a cafe we went to on Old Street roundabout (I can’t remember what is was called) told me I was gorgeous and she liked my hair. My day started in an excellent way. Yay!
What do you think of my bargains?
Kisses,
