Unsurprisingly, the topic for day 5 of BEDN was Bonfire Night. I quite like Bonfire Night usually, even though we never really do anything specially for it. Well, when I say I like Bonfire Night I really mean that I like fireworks and sparklers. Who doesn’t like writing their name in the dark with a sparkler?
This year I never got a chance to see any fireworks at all. I was busy the weekend before, shopping for bridesmaid dresses. Which, by the way, was a success and I’ll share them with you soon.
Our local fireworks display was the first weekend in November so I never got to go and then on Bonfire Night itself that last thing I wanted to do after work was trek across London to queue up for hours in the cold to pay to get into a park that is usually free. It makes me sad.
I can’t wait until we get ourselves a little house with a garden and we can have our own little Bonfire night parties. Tom can be in charge of the fireworks and I’ll get baking and cooking. The food around this time of year is always awesome. Loads of sausages, jacket potatoes, stews and pies. That’s not even to start on the thought of flapjacks, toffee apples, cake and even more pie!
How does your ideal Bonfire Night play out? What did you do this Bonfire Night?
Leave your BEDN links below for me to check out.
Kisses,

Is bonfire night it’s own holiday in England? It sounds fun!
