So, it’s now the 8th and I’m playing catch up from day 3. Looks like I’m going to be playing catch up a fair deal over this month. Even if I don’t manage to get them all up on the right days I really want to try to complete a post for all of the blog topics suggested. I guess light is actually a good topic to try to explain why I’ve been struggling to get these things done of an evening.
It’s funny the way light effects us, don’t you think? Especially natural light. I love a nap but sometimes I struggle to doze off if it’s too light outside and in the room I’m in. That’s nothing new, I know but it does lead me into what I wanted to write about quite well.
At the moment it’s dark when my alarm goes off in the morning and only every so slightly lighter when the time eventually comes round to drag myself out of bed. Then when I leave work it’s dark and the thought of doing anything after work fills me with dread. Whereas during the summer months when it’s light when I wake up; I don’t try to bury myself in the duvet quite so much of a morning. Sometimes I even make it on to the exercise bike before work (not nearly as often as I should!) Then after work I want to see my friends, go out to places and generally not be at home slumped on the sofa in front of the TV.
Yeah, yeah, I know everyone feels like this to some point but it has been suggested to me on a number of occasions that I may suffer from S.A.D. I don’t know if I do or not but it does have a tendency to get me down a little sometimes. I think maybe I’m just part bear and need to hibernate during the winter months.
As trivial as I may have made this seem it is something I struggle with from time to time and this week, the last thing I have wanted to do when I have got home from work is open my laptop and start writing blog posts.
So, like I said at the top of this post it’s funny how light effects us isn’t it?
Do you struggle to find motivation during the dark days and winter months? If you do, how do you get through it? Any tips for me?
If you’re taking part in BEDN too, please leave your links below so I can catch up with your posts.
