Happy Halloween!
I’m not normally one for celebrating All Hallow’s Eve. I’m not very good at fancy dress and I usually spend this time of year counting down the days to Christmas so it tends to be one holiday that tends to slip by unnoticed in our house.
Not this year though!!
The guys and ghouls at Hoxton Street Monster Supplies Shop got in touch to tell me about their new cook book* and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it!
Luckily, it’s been translated for use by humans as well as monsters and it is jam-packed with everyday recipes for the living, dead and undead.
For hundreds of years, the Hoxton Street Monster Supplies shop has been supplying quality goods for the monster community from its premises in east London – and this, its classic recipe book, has been in use for just as long. So whether you’re entertaining trolls, hosting a vampire soirée or expecting zombies round for tea, you can make delicious treats to suit every occasion.
– Fallen out with a friend? Bake them some 1000-year Curse Cookies!
– Want to woo a zombie? Try our After-Gorging Breath Mints!
– Unexpected ogre guests? Make our Fresh Maggot Brownies or Spiced Earwax Pie!
Why not try your hand at some delicious mashed bogey tarts by following the recipe in the video below?
This book doesn’t just have recipes in it though. It also houses some handy hints for monster housekeeping, meaning this classic tome is an essential addition to every home, lair, cave, swamp or fiery pit.
Just in case you’ve never heard of Hoxton Street Monster Supplies Shop before, it was established in 1818, though the exact details of why, and by whom, have tragically been lost to history. They pride themselves on being London’s, and quite possibly the world’s, only purveyor of quality goods for monsters of every kind. Due to a rather inconvenient curse, all of their profits go to the Ministry of Stories, a creative writing and mentoring charity for young humans. They are doing everything in their power to rectify this intolerable situation.
To top it all off I have three of these brilliant cook books to give away all you have to do is have a little look at the Rafflecop widget below.
Good luck!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I’d rather not cook for the undead though if I don’t have to 😉
