I love the Hard Rock Cafe and I can’t actually believe it’s getting ready to celebrate turning 45 on 14th June. What I can believe though, is that they are throwing themselves a huge party at Hard Rock London. They’ll be turning back the clock just for the day and are putting its original 1971 menu on sale – complete with the 1971 price tag. This means menu items start from just 20p and the entire menu costs just £5.50!
The first ever Hard Rock Cafe menu includes the infamous legendary Burger, which remains a firm favourite to this day, along with hot plates, salads and a whole range of delectable desserts. Hard Rock’s classic Club Sandwich is just 60p, the decadent barbecue Roadhouse Ribs are 80p and the mouth-watering American Home-Made Style Country Ice Cream is only 25p.
They’re inviting customers to don their best 70s outfits to get into the 1971 vibe. There’ll be entertainment on the day with musicians entertaining crowds from midday to 9pm at ‘Busker’s Corner’ just outside the cafe, as well as stilt walkers, jugglers, caricaturists, balloon artists and much more to keep the party rocking all day long.
Additionally, Treasures of the Hard Rock presents Hard Rock Couture, the must-see memorabilia exhibition I wrote about a little while ago at Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! has extended its run due to popular demand. Until Wednesday 15 June 2016, music fans can head down to check out Hard Rock’s incredible fashion collection in its rockin’ glory, with iconic items including Madonna’s Jean Paul Gaultier corset, Brandon Flowers’ feather jacket, Paul McCartney’s suit made by tailors to The Beatles and even more from Lady Gaga, Jimi Hendrix, Katy Perry and Rihanna. Free entry with all Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! tickets.
Here’s that full 1971 menu in all its glory.
