For many of us, the idea of quality family time could consist of being at home. But it’s important to remember that quality family time doesn’t just have to be in the living room. Quality time is whatever you want it to be. So with this in mind, let’s show you some simple ways to actually make the most of your time together.
Exercise Together
Working out together is the best way for families to enjoy each other’s company. Because so many of us are used to lazing on the couch, getting up and about can be a great way for you to get the heart pumping, but it’s also a wonderful way to instigate some friendly competition! You could go on set further and turn it into a proper event, with families from all around the neighbourhood competing! If you wanted to turn it into a proper event, you could hire an online sports kit designer to create uniforms, which will add to the phone! But if you want to keep it simple don’t forget that exercise is just all about getting up and about. It could be about playing tag, or even just running around the park!
Take Pictures Together
If you’ve got children who are more than intrigued why you have your phone on you all of the time, why don’t you show them what you can really do with it? Taking pictures together doesn’t just have to be about selfies, but it can be those wonderful events that will give you a lifetime of memories to look back on. We’re all guilty of staring at our phones too much, so the next time you look at your phone and scroll through social media, turn the camera and take a picture of your children!
A Morning or Bedtime Routine
If we’ve had a bad day because of work or external circumstances, we can claw it back with a solid bedtime routine. You can set free time just to be together. Conversely, if you anticipate a really busy day, a 10-minute morning routine that is dedicated to your child’s can set you both up for a wonderful day. It doesn’t have to be anything complex, you could talk about the day heads, or get involved in making breakfast. It’s important to remember that when we are so busy in life, that all of these little events can add up to overwhelm our day, in which case, a good morning or bedtime routine is just a little way for the both of you to spend time together and no matter how hectic the day is, it always boils down to the two of you.
Sometimes, we can get a very skewed perspective of what quality family time is. And since the pandemic, quality family time has all meant us leaning on our devices a bit too much. And while it was invaluable for extended relatives, it’s now time to bring family time away from being online and make it something far better.
