Steph and I went to see Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip last Monday. It was a pretty ace show, I’ll tell you that for nothing. If you can get a ticket to go and see them on the second leg of this tour in April, you definitely should. i’m pretty sure they’ll be all over the festivals this summer too so make a point to see them if they’re at the same one as you. You’ll be glad you did.
I think it’s safe to say that iTCH is fanatical about his craft. The grit, determination and passion he puts into his music in recording bursts out threefold when he performs. This is a man with something to say. Koko is already packed when he takes to the stage and before long is in amongst the crowd getting them as hyped as he is. The only thing that burst my bubble was the scary baby mask on the keyboard player on stage. I swear I’ll have nightmares for weeks after looking at him!
The best thing about Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip (apart from their music) is their relationship. The way these two interact rubs off on the crowd instantly and, if they weren’t already, gets everyone in the mood for a party.
These boys have plenty of massive tunes to pick their set list from and they definitely don’t disappoint. Kicking off with Stunner and slipping seamlessly into The Beat That My Heart Skipped means that the crowd are electrified right from the start. Just as the audience is reaching fever pitch, Pip sits down in his leather armchair for story time and introduces the duo’s new single, Terminal. This break doesn’t last long though as Billy Bragg enters stage left and a rousing cover version of To Have And To Have Not rings through the sold out venue. From this point on there’s no letting up and the set triumphantly closes with Thou Shalt Always Kill.
An extremely short encore followed where the burst through Introdiction, one of Pip’s solo efforts and a rousing rendition of Letter From God To Man. With The Prodigy’s Voodoo People ringing in our ears, the lights come up and out into the cold we go everyone considering selling their grandmas for a ticket to do it all again the next night!
Have you seen Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip? What did you think? Are you going to see them? Let me know!
Kisses

I would have sold a kidney for these tickets! They sold out eons ago. I love Mr Pip. In a purely-from-afar-and-would-never-want-to-actually-meet-him-because-he-is-too-terrifyingly-intelligent-and-beardy kind of way. x
