I really love summer in London, lazy days in the park, wandering around, exploring places I don’t usually go and one day festivals. London has a few one day or non-camping festivals now and I love them. All the fun of a music festival but I still get to go home, back to my own bed and a hot shower in the morning – bliss! Or I’m getting old, one or the other.
Anyway, I was pretty excited to hear the news that Victoria Park (round the corner from my house!) is going to be the home of a brand new music festival this summer and that Bombay Bicycle Club and Ben Howard are lined up to headline it. Perfect sunny day music!
The inaugural Citadel will take place on Sunday 19th July. It has been conceived and created by the award-winning Wilderness Festival and Superfly, co-creators of Bonnaroo and Outside Lands, two of America’s most prestigious festivals, so it’s coming from an excellent pedigree.
Away from the music, the festival will host some of the city’s gastronomic leaders crafting a series of long table Sunday dining experiences. Who doesn’t want their dinner to be an experience? There’s no dodgy burger vans here!

“We’re really looking forward to hosting a day of brilliant music (and hopefully sunshine!) with our friend Ben Howard.”
Tickets are on general sale from tomorrow and you can find out more information on their website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Will I see you there?
