I’ll admit it straight off, I first looked into Rag’n’Bone Man’s music because I saw a photo of him and thought he looks like he would give brilliant cuddles. I know this may not be the most conventional basis to discovering new music but in this case, it paid off in bucketloads. I mean, I may not know if the cuddling part is true but I do know that is voice is incredible.
I’m not the only one who thinks so, Rory was awarded second place in the BBC Sound Of 2017 last week this isn’t his only award either, he was recently crowned the winner of the coveted BRITs Critics’ Choice Award too. His single, Human, has reached #1 on iTunes in 31 countries, reached Platinum status in four countries and Gold in another four. It was also #2 in the Official UK Charts race this Christmas.
Anyway, to celebrate news of his BBC Sound Of honour, Rag’n’Bone Man performed an exclusive stripped version of the forthcoming album track, Skin, direct from his old stomping ground, Brixton Jamm, and it’s absolutely bloody dreamy.
You can see him collect his BRITs Critics’ Choice Award and perform live at the BRITs nomination launch tomorrow, January 14, on ITV. I’ll definitely be checking it out.
