I saw this tag over on Rachael’s blog, Girl Behind The Blue Door and thought I’d give it a little go. It was actually a lot harder than I expected it to be. You’d think 26 things about me would be one of the easiest things I’ve ever sat down to write but sticking to the a to z template actually made it a little more tough. Anyway, here goes…
A is for Anxiety
This is something I suffer with but hate talking to people about. It’s not nearly as bad as it used to be and I have learnt a variety of ways that help me personally try to overcome it. However, it still does get the better of me sometimes and I still have the occasional panic attack.
B is for Best Friends
I am a very lucky girl to have a handful of really gorgeous and lovely friends. I love them very much and am very excited at the thought of a certain extra special one hopefully moving closer to me soon.
C is for Clinch
My new surname. It still feels really weird and I still sign things Johnson. I have some things in Johnson, some things in Clinch and some in Johnson-Clinch. Why is it all so difficult?
D is for Dye
I’m a bit of a fiend when it comes to hair dye. My hair has been pretty much every colour under the sun. I get bored pretty quickly with my hair and am always looking for new ideas as to what to do. Considering I’m a bit scared of going to the hairdressers I spend an awful lot of time and money there. I don’t think I’ve ever done a “new hair” post as such, maybe I should start.
E is for East London
I love East London. It’s where I’ve lived now for the past four years and it’s not getting old yet. In fact, we’re hoping to move house this year and we’ll pretty much only looking in East London.
F is for Food
Food is one of my favourite things in the world. Cheese, chocolate, cake… pretty much anything that isn’t exactly good for me I love. I think food and my emotions are very much linked, which I need to fight against a bit sometimes but ah well. Now, who wants a sandwich?
G is for Gin
I love gin. There’s not really a lot more to say about that. Hendricks and Tenqueray are my favourite brands. You know, just in case you were wondering.
H is for Harry
Harry is my beautiful black labrador that lives at home with my mum and dad. He’s pretty much replaced me as their baby since I don’t live there anymore. He’s absolutely spoilt rotten and is the most loving and gorgeous boy.
I is for Inspiration
This is something I’m currently lacking a little bit at the moment. I guess this follows on from what I was saying in my Happy New Year post. ReeRee once told me to visualize where I wanted to end up and work backwards from there. My only problem is, right now, I’m not sure where exactly that is.
J is for Jokes
There have been a lot of practical jokes being played in my office recently and it really has helped ease us back into work after being off for two weeks. A good laugh really does help when you’re stuck at your desk.
K is for Kitten
Every now and then Tom tries to convince me that we should get a kitten, I look at pictures of cute little bundles of fluff online and my heart melts and I agree, then reality sets in and I remember I’m not really a cat person and we live in a second floor flat with a balcony and the thought is totally dismissed. Plus, I want a puppy, not a kitten.
L is for Lojo
Lojo is a nickname that spread and stuck and I’m not even entirely sure how. Changing my name means I’ll be losing the “jo” though. Maybe double barreling is the way forward to keep it. Haha
M is for Music
Music has and always will be my first love but sadly I’m not talented in that way at all. I can’t carry a tune unless it’s in a bucket and I wish that I’d kept up the piano lessons I took when I was younger. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll take them up again.
N is for Nose
I have a bit of an issue with my nose. It’s super long and a bit wonky. The thing is, it’s never actually crossed my mind to do anything about it. I go through phases of really hating it. Now you’ve read this you’re going to scan back up the page to have a look at it on the photo aren’t you? Knew it!
O is for Over Thinking
I never used to think I was but I am a bit of a worrier. I always play situations over and over in my head, especially if I wasn’t happy with the way they played out. Sometimes I bite my tongue when I want to say something and I get scared to ask questions for fear of looking silly. You’d think I’d have grown out of this by now but I’m so worried about upsetting other people sometimes that I won’t say what I’m thinking.
P is for People
I love being with the people who I love and that I can be myself around. When I’m feeling good I love being around people but I do quite often need some alone time afterwards to recharge. The stereotypical signs of an introvert, right there.
Q is for Quiet
I don’t think people realise that I am naturally quite a quiet person and that I am pretty shy. Once I’m comfortable you can’t shut me up but prior to that it’s like getting blood out of a stone. Tom’s family can attest to that. The first time I went round there I think I said about three words in total. One of which was “bye!” shouted down the path as I practically ran to my car! I was very nervous.
R is for Remember
My memory is awful at times and so I plan everything in my diary. Nothing weird there, right? Some people seem to think it’s a very strange thing as I use a physical paper diary and not the one on my phone. I just don’t trust it, Tom has one of those fancy watches that talks to his phone so he gets reminders there. However, my phones have a tendency to live in the bottom of my handbag or on the side. I walk away from them and forget where I’ve put them quite often so it just wouldn’t work for me.
S is for Sleep
I am brilliant at falling asleep. If I’m tired I can doze off pretty much anywhere. Staying asleep is a whole other matter though. I wake up multiple times in the night and am end up only getting a couple of hours of sleep some nights. Booo.
T is for Tea
Tea cures most things. I’m sure of it. I drink gallons of the stuff on a daily basis and cannot function properly until that first cup has passed my lips of a morning.
U is for Unicorn
I bloody love unicorns. In fact my birthday card from Tom last year said “Always be yourself, unless you can be a unicorn then always be a unicorn.” It made me happy and is up in our hallway still now. As an aside, I know that unicorns are mythical but I also thought narwhals were too. They’re not, they’re real.
V is for Video
Every now and them I get lost on YouTube. I start looking for a tutorial for something or a music video and fall down a hole and end up watching videos about things I didn’t even know I was interested in. Then all of a sudden three hours have disappeared and I can’t remember what I started with in the first place.
W is for Water
As part of my attempt at getting healthier and fitter this year I am trying to drink more water. Fizzy drinks have gone out the window in our house, much to the disappointment of Tom, I don’t think he’s ever drank quite so much squash. I’m not sure if it’s just because I want to see it, or if it is actually having some effect but I think my skin is pleased about the extra water I’ve been guzzling recently.
X is for X
I’ve been listening to a lot of Ed Sheeran recently and it upsets me a bit. Not as much as when I look at him sometimes and fancy him though. I feel very confused about this u-turn in my affections for him but it’s something I’m dealing with (soundtracked by his album, X!)
Y is for Yellow
As I mentioned before and a million other times my hair has been many colours. Yellow is the one colour I always try to avoid though. No one wants to have yellow blonde hair, right?
Z is for Z-List
I love rubbish telly and z-list celebs so the fact that Celeb BB is back on our screens has me quite excited. Especially as Michelle Visage is in there (note: MV is definitely not z list.) Tom hates it and ends up shouting at the tv most of the time. Which always makes me laugh.
So there we have it. Probably more than you’ve ever wanted to know about me.
Kisses,
